The local community is very important to us and many of our staff live either on-site or in the village. Supporting this community is very rewarding for both us and our local members, we have a number of initiatives which help support the local community.
An example of this is that our General Manager, Jack, trained for months and took part in Strictly SeeAbility at the Octagon theatre. SeeAbility is one of the oldest disability charities in the UK and they encourage people with disabilities to challenge what they expect from life and offers support to people with sight loss. We also have a number of local community initiatives, which can be seen below.
Evershot Country Fair
Every year we take part in the Evershot Village Country Fair in June. We run a competition and have tastings, raising money for the school, village nursery and church.
Green practices training is offered to all staff members, encouraging each team member to act in a sustainable way and follow green guidelines.
We support local organisations in the village, by donating prizes for raffles and silent auctions.
A very high percentage of staff live in the village of Evershot, therefore this reduces transport needs. We have created an events board encouraging the staff to attend events together, which saves on fuel and encourages car sharing.
All employees are offered two paid days of work to volunteer in the local community. This encourages our staff to help volunteer at least twice per year.
Our General Manager, Jack Mackenzie, trained for months and took part in Strictly SeeAbility at the Octagon theatre in 2017. This was a Strictly Come Dancing competition raising money for SeeAbility - seeing beyond disability.
