The threat posed by climate change and the need to preserve natural resources are some of the most important issues facing us today. At Red Carnation, we are keenly aware of our responsibility to confront these problems head-on.
We are committed to our community and dedicated to social responsibility. Supporting local charities, conservation, preservation, nature, heritage and green initiatives including the personal development of each member of the Red Carnation team, is at the heart of everything we do.
Due to our outstanding location within the heart of the Dorset countryside we are blessed with not only beautiful gardens, but they are also perfect for growing fresh herbs, fruits and vegetables for our kitchens.
Our chef uses the gardens and poly tunnels to grow vegetables such as potatoes, onions and peppers, meaning many of our ingredients travel zero food miles to get to your plate, especially as the menu changes depending on seasonality.
Our Green Team
As part of the focus towards sustainability, our dedicated Green Team includes a representative from each department of the hotel.
Our meetings comprise of discussing what each department has implemented and discussing new future initiatives. They also involve ensuring that our green initiatives are being followed, by having meetings in different areas, such as in the garbage compound to ensure our recycling guidelines are being followed.
The Green Team
Our green initiatives are all supported and encouraged by Red Carnation Hotels, as a family run brand they are committed to acting sustainably. Red Carnation have reached a number of green milestones and donated hundreds of thousands of pounds to charities such as Great Ormand Street Hospital and The Starlight Foundation.
