The threat posed by climate change and the need to preserve natural resources are some of the most important issues facing us today. At Red Carnation, we are keenly aware of our responsibility to confront these problems head-on, and have instituted a Green Team to investigate and implement the ways we can contribute to this global process.
These vary from large-scale initiatives – such as a clear policy on recycling, installing solar panels to provide energy and dimmer switches to conserve it, and finding ways to reuse waste for flushing toilets and watering plants – to such apparently trivial responses as reusing scrap paper as notepaper.
We are committed to our community and dedicated to social responsibility. Supporting local charity, conservation, preservation, nature, heritage and green initiatives including the personal development of each member of the Red Carnation team, is at the heart of everything we do.
We are a proud partner of The Starlight Foundation who work tirelessly to grant the wishes of seriously and terminally ill children; and Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital, one of the world's leading hospitals for children. An optional £1 is added to our guests' bills and we match each donation pound for pound. Additionally, profits from Founder & President, Bea Tollman's, cookbook A Life in Food are donated to these two charities.
In addition our restaurants regularly raise money for the following charities:
Action Against Hunger – Love Food Give Food campaign
A charity that saves the lives of malnourished children and provides families with access to safe water and good nutrition.
StreetSmart raises thousands of pounds for homeless charities in cities across the UK every year during November and December.
