Few of life’s pleasures are so easy to enjoy as wine. But that enjoyment can be hugely enhanced with a little knowledge – and this 2-day package provides an excellent opportunity to learn from one of the world’s most highly regarded experts.

As UK Sommelier of the Year in 2004, and a runner-up in the Best Sommelier of the World Competition in 2007, our Cellar Master Eric Zwiebel possesses an incredible passion for his subject. He delights in sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm in a fun way that everyone finds easy to follow.

Guests attend two 90-minute masterclasses with Eric where they’ll learn about the differences between old and new world wines, how to match food and wine, how to recognise a good wine and how to get the best from any restaurant wine list.

The restaurant at Summer Lodge was recently voted "Best Restaurant in Dorset" in the Taste of Dorset Award 2009 and during dinner Eric will be on hand to provide further insights. On the first evening, diners will get the opportunity to put some of their newly acquired skills into practice as they choose wines to accompany their meal. On the second evening they’ll enjoy a spectacular 8-course degustation menu while Eric guides them through the wines that he has specially selected to match each dish.

This package is available Sunday through Thursday and includes:
