Event: The Enchanted Floodlit Garden at the Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens
Date: October 13th to 31st.
The Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens near Weymouth is a great attraction for anyone visiting the area.
Whether it is botanical enthusiasts fascinated by the rare plants that can be found there, those planning on giving their garden a makeover and searching for some inspiration or simply people who want a relaxing stroll, the venue offers something for everyone.
And this October visitors will be able to see it in a whole new light - literally - with the Enchanted Floodlit Garden, which sees the grounds lit up so they can be explored during the evening.
Those who go along between October 13th and 31st will be able to venture into the gardens from dusk until 20:30 local time and marvel at what has been described by Alan Titchmarsh as "one of the finest gardens I have ever visited".
The garden was established by the Countess of Ilchester in 1765 and was the subject of a major restoration project following the 1990 storm, which resulted in many more flowers and plants being brought in from all over the world.
Guests staying at luxury Dorset hotel the Summer Lodge who have booked the Get More From Your Stay package could stop for lunch in the garden's Colonial Restaurant, before heading back to the hotel and enjoying a complimentary romantic turndown in the evening.
