The International Napoleonic Fair at Kingston Maurward House

Event: The International Napoleonic Fair at Kingston Maurward House
Date: September 24th-26th

Visitors heading for a late summer break in Dorset during September will be able to take a step back in time at the 2010 International Napoleonic Weekend.

Taking place at the Kingston Maurward House in Dorchester between September 24th and 26th, this year's event will celebrate the 200th anniversary of the year 1810.

Military re-enactments are just one attraction attendees will be able to enjoy over the course of the weekend, with the 95th Rifles, other British and Allied regiments and the French infantry from Napoleon's Imperial Army all being used to recreate the Napoleonic Wars in the venue's extensive grounds.

In addition, the doors of the Georgian mansion will be opened for the International Napoleonic Fair, which returns for its 17th year and gives visitors the chance to purchase anything from books and pictures detailing the period to complete costumes, swords and replica firearms.

And guests staying at luxury Dorset hotel the Summer Lodge will be able to dance the evening away on the Friday at the Grand Regency Ball, which will also include Regency games and a themed buffet featuring foods that were eaten during the period.

Guests who book a long weekend at the Summer Lodge and opt for the Get More From Your Stay package will be able to enjoy a complimentary bottle of Champagne in their room on arrival, or, alternatively, opt for a romantic turndown each evening.ADNFCR-596-ID-19909716-ADNFCR
