150th Anniversary Victorian Festival at Nothe Fort, Weymouth

Event: 150th Anniversary Victorian Festival at Nothe Fort, Weymouth
Date: August 7th and 8th

Staying in Dorset means visitors will have some of England's most beautiful landscape at their fingertips, with a raft of beaches, pathways and historic buildings to explore.

One such offering is Weymouth's Nothe Fort, which is located at the entrance to Weymouth Harbour and dates back to Victorian times.

The building, which contains a labyrinth of underground passageways and open green spaces, will be the host for the 150th Anniversary Victorian Festival, which is set to feature the Nothe Fort Artillery Volunteers reenacting key parts of history.

Taking place between August 7th and 8th, the event will feature live firings of cannons, rifles and muskets - along with the chance to see firearms of the past at close quarters - as well as a number of other interactive events.

It has been billed as a "great day out" for families, visitors and military enthusiasts alike and may be an ideal way to spend the day for guests booked in to luxury Dorset hotel The Summer Lodge.

Those who opt for the Get More From Your Stay package can enjoy one of a number of complementary gifts during their stay, including a bottle of Champagne on arrival, afternoon tea for two on one day or a romantic turndown every evening.
