Event: Jousting Shows & Medieval Village at Lulworth Castle

Set in the rolling countryside of East Lulworth, Dorset, Lulworth Castle is the setting for a number of events over the course of the year, particularly in the summer months.

Originally built as a hunting lodge in the early 17th century, restoration of the building was completed by English Heritage in 1998, opening it up to visitors wanting to take in the castle's history.

Its grounds are often put to good use when the weather improves and this summer is no exception, as guests staying at the luxury Dorset hotel the Summer Lodge will be able to visit Lulworth Castle between July 25th and 28th in order to witness jousting shows and a recreation of a medieval village.

Two "spectacular" jousting events will take place on each day and after watching the Knights of Lulworth competing, visitors can sample the combat demonstrations, coin striking and cookery that will be taking place in the castle's grounds.

Upon their return to the Summer Lodge, guests who have taken advantage of its Get More From Your Stay package will be able to enjoy a romantic turndown each evening.
