Beaminster is a wonderful place to relax.

Each year, locals and visitors gather in force to celebrate the Beaminster Festival of Music and Arts which for ten days brings musicians, artists, potters and sculptors to the town for a ten-day extravaganza.

This year's programme promises a packed schedule of entertainment, with performances from the Ukelele Orchestra of Great Britain, the Band of the Coldstream Guards and the international award-winning octet Voces 8 some of the highlights.

Theatre lovers can enjoy productions of James and the Giant Peach and the Tempest, while there will be talks on issues ranging from urban regeneration in Kabul to relative values from a host of speakers.

The festival is a chance to take in not only the surrounding countryside but to enjoy a cultural celebration which brings the whole area to life.
