Event: Giant Swan Maze to open and baby swans hatching

Visitors to the family-friendly Abbotsbury Swannery, which is located between Weymouth and Bridport on the World Heritage Coast, will have the opportunity to see baby swans hatching between mid-May and the end of June.
Established by Benedictine monks in the 11th century as a swan farm to supply food for banquets, the facility has been under the stewardship of the Ilchester Estates since the mid-1500s.
Today, the facility - which has appeared in the Harry Potter films - is one of Dorset's best family-friendly places to visit.
Guests are able to stroll through a colony of nesting mute swans at the sanctuary - the only place in the world where this is possible.
During the May half-term break, the world-famous swan sanctuary - which is home to more than 600 friendly free-flying birds - will open its new Giant Swan Maze and is sure to appeal to animal lovers of all ages.
