Stonehenge is the premier British iconic landmark

A new poll of young people in the UK has revealed that the pre-historic monument Stonehenge is the top British iconic landmark.

Stonehenge, which is located just over an hour's drive from luxury Dorset hotel the Summer Lodge, beat a list of renowned attractions including Hadrian's Wall and the London Eye, which were voted second and third respectively.

The survey of 2,500 eight to 15 year-olds saw Edinburgh Castle voted fourth, followed by Buckingham Palace, the Tower of London, the White Cliffs of Dover, the Angel of the North, Blackpool Tower and St Paul's Cathedral.

Dating back thousands of years, Stonehenge is one of the world's most famous cultural attractions whose secrets continue being discovered by archaeologists and it attracts visitors from far-reaching places.

Those staying at the Summer Lodge can treat themselves to a half-hour neck, back and shoulder massage for two after returning from an exploration trip of Stonehenge if they take advantage of the Celebration Package.
