Little Red Riding Hood at the Upton Community Centre

Event: Little Red Riding Hood
Date: December 17th until December 20th

The big bad wolf will be looking to enjoy a Christmas meal like the rest this winter when Little Red Riding Hood comes to the stage at Upton's Community Centre.

Lytchett and Upton Community Association's Amateur Dramatics Society will bring the famous tale of the lascivious beast and innocent girl to life with a stage production to welcome in the festive period.

A pretty youngster is sent to her grandmother's house to deliver warm cakes when she is intercepted by a wolf in the forest.

Shorn of a good meal for some time, it takes all of the beast's will power not to devour the girl on the spot.

Cunningly, he gets her to divulge the location of her grandmother's home and races ahead, where he enters her house and swallows her relative on the spot.

The young girl eventually reaches the house unaware the evil animal is lying in wait.

After beckoning her into bed he eats her but the day is saved by a woodcutter who cuts the beast open and frees the two victims, who are both unharmed.

Visitors will be thrilled with this charming children's story and can look forward to equally charming accommodation afterwards with a suite at the luxury Dorset hotel the Summer Lodge.

Those bringing children can opt for the Family Retreat deal, which includes a full English breakfast, tickets to the Swannery Tropical Gardens and Children's play farm, a welcome pack with games and DVDs, plus unlimited access to the spa for mum and dad.
