Bridport Literary Festival at Bridport Arts Centre

Event: Bridport Literary Festival
Date: November 7th until November 16th

For a selection of readings, discussions, performances and films there will be no other place to be than the Bridport this November as the Literary Festival will travel around the town celebrating the Bridport Prize.
The award was founded in 1973 and has attracted entries from across the UK as well as more than 80 nations around the globe.

Some of the biggest names in literature will be attending the event including novelist, playwright and screenwriter Fay Weldon, presenter and political commentator Jonathan Dimbleby and author Michael Dobbs.

They will be joined by Julian Fellowes, Kate Summerscale, Jason Goodwin, Robin Hanbury-Tenison and many others.

Also making an appearance will be the Ian McMillan Orchestra while there will also be a new production taking place, entitled The Death and Life of Sherlock Holmes.

It is not just adults who are catered for as children will have their own free event.

Other highlights of this year's event include a festival bar at the Bull hotel and a festival fringe.

Those travelling with their young ones can add to their experience by booking a suite at the luxury Dorset hotel the Summer Lodge and taking advantage of the Family Retreat package.

Accommodation in a Summer Lane cottage in addition to a welcome pack including DVDs, comics and board games as well as tickets to the Swannery Tropical Gardens and children's play farm for two adults and two youngsters are included in the deal.
