Purbeck Film Festival at various locations

Event: Purbeck Film Festival
Dates: October 10th – 25th

The UK's biggest and longest-running rural film festival is set to take place later this year.

Running from October 10th to 25th, the Purbeck Film Festival will present a wide range of films to its audience, with the specific aim of bringing film to rural communities that cannot easily access public cinema.

According to the event's website: "At its centre is a general commitment to broaden the understanding and enjoyment of the general public in the shared experience of cinema."

The festival will be held at various venues, including the Rex Cinema in Wareham, Poole's Lighthouse and the Lookout Cafe in Swanage, showing more than 80 films and hosting discussion periods.

Attendees to the event may like to stay at the Summer Lodge Hotel in Dorset, which also offers an eco package providing train transport from London, a full body massage and the chance to shop for organic goods in nearby Evershot.

Films on the Purbeck Film Festival bill include Anna Karenina, Apocalypse Now Redux, Juno and Lawrence of Arabia.
