Dorset Food Week at various locations

Event: Dorset Food Week
Date: October 24th to November 2nd

Food lovers are set to descend on Dorset next month for the eighth annual food week, which champions local offerings.

The event will show seasonal food and drink from a range of producers and is split across a number of locations to make it more accessible to all.

It will run from October 25th to November 2nd and will focus on farming and the rural culture of the area.

Each day of the event will have a hotspot, which will be the focus of the day's activities, ranging from Weymouth to Wimbourne and Blandford.

It promises to answer questions on how the food reaches your plate, what is produced in the region and how buying local helps the area.

Those attending the event can stay at the luxury Dorset hotel the Summer Lodge and take advantage of the Dorset Gardens offer, which gives free admission to two local National Trust destinations and a three-course dinner each evening.

Last year's event saw celebrity chef Leslie Waters giving a food demonstration and competitions like guessing the weight of the Dorset apple cake.

Another gastronomic event in the region, the East Dorset Food Fair, will happen on October 18th and 19th in the grounds of Parnham House.
