Dorset Architectural Heritage Week

Event: Dorset Architectural Heritage Week
Date: September 13th until 21st 2008

As summer draws to a close, Dorset celebrates the beginning of a new season with the Dorset Architectural Heritage Week.

Dorset Architectural Heritage Week aims to encourage visitors to Dorset to enjoy the region's many architecturally unique properties and includes guided walks and talks.

Guests staying at luxury Dorset hotel the Summer Lodge may also enjoy a variety of special events taking place as part of the heritage week - which runs from September 13th until 21st - such as a flower festival at Woodlands Parish Church.

Other recently announced events include bell ringing at St Cuthburga in Wimborne Minster on Tuesday 16th and Wednesday 17th September, when visitors will be allowed to ascend the tower to see the installation of the ten-bells.

The landscape and architecture of the region will no doubt be of interest to readers of Thomas Hardy's literature who are staying at luxury Dorset hotel the Summer Lodge, as Hardy is one of Dorset's most famous sons.

For those wishing to take a more detailed look at the Hardy landscapes, the Dorset's Gardens package offered by the Summer Lodge hotel gives travellers access to two of the south west's most stunning National Trust properties and gardens - Montacute and Tintinhull.

Available until November 2nd 2008 the package also includes breakfast and a three course evening meal at the luxury Dorset hotel.
