The artistic community of Bridport opens its doors to all comers for one weekend every year - and that time is again upon us.

Bridport Open Studios sees the barriers between artists and the community broken down with a variety of exhibitions taking place in the region.

Guests at the Summer Lodge hotel, a luxury Dorset hotel, will be able to learn more about the range of creative activity in Bridport by visiting locations such as the Artistic Quarter and the PB Art Gallery.

Running from August 23rd to 25th, the programme will feature works by local artists including David Brooke, Kate Dowty and Mariann Simmons, the latter of which will be opening her studio for the first time in seven years.

The types of art on display range from the ceramic works of Steve Will to the digital photo-art of John Stevens.

While visiting Bridport, it is also well worth taking a trip to the coastline, which forms part of the gateway to the Jurassic Coast.
