RAF Town Show in Dorset

Event: RAF town show at Weymouth Pavilion
Date: August 14th to 16th 2008

Visitors to Dorset will have the chance to sample the life of a Royal Air Force (RAF) pilot next month.

The RAF Town Show will be returning to the forecourt of Weymouth Pavilion for what will be the sixth edition of the event between August 14th and 16th.

Budding pilots can get a feel for what it is like to be behind the controls of a fighter plane by climbing into a Jaguar Aircraft cockpit and trying their hand at the Typhoon Eurofighter Simulator.

A range of demonstrations and other activities will also be on offer - including real-life forces personnel who are happy to talk about all aspects of life in the skies.

"We are delighted to return to Weymouth as we always receive a warm welcome," an RAF spokesperson said in anticipation of the show.

"The week offers us the opportunity to meet the public and give them the chance to see what the RAF does first hand."
