Dorset Seafood Festival

Those staying at luxury Dorset hotel the Summer Lodge this summer will be able to enjoy the culinary delights of the Dorset Seafood Festival.

The Dorset Seafood Festival aims to celebrate the region's connection between the sea and the fishing communities, while focus will also be on how seafood travels from the ocean to the plate.

Taking place over the weekend of July 12th until 13th, the harbour area will become a Seafood Village featuring numerous different species of fish and shellfish.

Caught and transported directly from the boats, into open air cooking pots, this event is directly targeted at those on family breaks in the region.

Cooking demonstrations will take place on the old harbourside led by chefs Mark Hix, Mitch Tonks and Tom Cull. Competitions in the form of the Dorset Young Seafood Chef of the Year and Fishtucker Trials will also take place alongside filleting demonstrations.

Guests will also have the chance to attend a wine matching exhibition and take part in a fresh fish auction.

Try various seafood dishes, featuring locally caught crab, cod, mussels, oysters, lobster, mackerel, scallops and gurnard before returning for a good night's rest at your Summer Lodge suite.
