A talk is being held by mystic and spiritual teacher David Hand, who will attempt to explore the question of 2012 Prophecies: Is Humankind on the Brink of Extinction or Evolution?

According to the Mayan calendar, on a day in 2012, a cycle lasting for 5,000 years will reach its conclusion, meaning that a "vast cosmic plan is now entering its final, dramatic stages and our lives and our world are about to change forever".

Mr Hand, who refers to himself as a psychic, will explore new age predictions and Mayan prophecies for the year 2012 during the talk while also offering his own insight.

Over the past ten years, Mr Hand and his wife - a qualified yoga teacher - have run workshops and courses in the south of England, some close to the luxury Dorset hotel Summer Lodge.

The self-professed psychic aims to offer insight into the place of mankind in the cosmos while attempting to help people connect with their "soul energy".
