Category: Family Fun Dates: Friday, 02 August 2013 to Sunday, 04 August 2013 July sees the beginning of the summer holidays, with thousands of British families setting off to various destinations around the UK and abroad in order to enjoy some quality time together. If you're still in search of an event that will keep the boredom at bay, look no further than Camp Bestival, a weekend of activities so varied that it'll keep every member of the family entertained. Camp Bestival sees the grounds of Lulworth Castle completely transformed into a veritable feast of entertainment between August 2nd and the 4th. Depending upon where you live, it may be worth booking accommodation close by so you can get there early enough to experience everything. Check into The Summer Lodge hotel and get three nights for the price of two if you're planning to spend the entirety of the weekend at the festival. Music fans will be particularly pleased to hear that Camp Bestival's lineup of live acts is its strongest yet, with headliners including DJ Yoda, The Proclaimers, The Polyphonic Spree and West Country legends The Wurzels. Comedy enthusiasts will likely be similarly drawn to big names including Alan Davis, Stephen Carlin and transatlantic hit Wendy Wilson. Children who enjoy a chuckle are more than welcome to attend the Comedy Club 4 Kids, which features live acts before bedtime and without any rude words - specially designed for six to 11-year-olds. All this is without even touching upon the endless list of theatrical shows hoping to enthrall and entrance audiences at Camp Bestival, including a summer pantomime of Alice in Wonderland and even an appearance from TV's Dick'N'Dom. Foodies are invited to spend time in one of the many tents dedicated to gastronomic delights, including the Local Farmers' Market, the Fresh Organic tent and the Strawberries and Cream pavilion. All in all, it's a fantastic weekend of not-to-be-missed entertainment.
